General Thoughts
It’s been about two weeks since my last entry, and I’m afraid I don’t have much to say. I ended up getting sick, which made progress come to a crawl.
I’ve created a few new model - A human male and human female. The idea is that at some points in the game, zombies will chase them around and you’ll have to kill them before it’s too late. I got a little more of the city built out, and the first two enemy zombies now spawn in. I have also randomized the words finally.
I’ve started to record random parts of me programming to use as B roll. It’s been two weeks since I made my last post. I had wanted to try and get something up on youtube every two weeks, but I think it’s time to readjust. I want to make a good devlog video. Something that is interesting and worth watching.
I also want to finish my game soon. It’s a rather small game and it’s taught me a whole lot. And I fear that if I take too long to finish, it’ll simply never get done. The level I have in mind is fairly small in scope. That said, I still need to add in sounds, music, audio, a title screen, end credits, etc.
Oh, I’ve also migrated over to Linuxmint for development. I dual boot Windows and Linux Mint, and decided to start developing on Linux for a number of reasons. I have to go to work in about 10 minutes, so don’t have time to detail out my reasons now.
All in all, it looks like I’ve actually done a bit more than I’ve given myself credit for. I am coming to realize that, while getting in 30 minutes or an hour or so before work is good, it really helps to have those days where you get like 3-4 hours of work done. Those are the blocks that make it feel like I’m really progressing.
Maybe I’ll go ahead and do a title screen? It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten to cross something off my checklist.
Finally, I’m thinking about naming the game Dead Letters. Not sure yet.
